Embracing Undocumented was founded by Felecia Russell, a Black, DACAmented person.

At Embracing Undocumented, we hope to:

  • Spread insight about Transformative Practices for working with Undocumented Students
  • Promote the narratives of Black undocumented people through storytelling
    • Stories like Felecia’s is often left out of the immigrant conversation. Black immigrants are an important part of the narrative. According to the Center for Migration Studies, “Although the narrative around immigration usually focuses on Latinx people crossing the southern border, black immigrants from the Caribbean, and from Africa comprise a significant and growing part of the story of immigration in the United States.

Embracing Undocumented also has an annual scholarship for undocumented students at California Lutheran University.
