Embracing Undocumented was founded by Felecia Russell, a DREAMer who serves undocumented people. Her goal is to connect young undocumented people to mentors, scholarships and resources while also shedding light on the invisibility of Black undocumented people.

At Embracing Undocumented, we hope to:

  • Connect undocumented students with mentors who are accomplished in their fields of interest
  • Spread insight about Transformative Practices for working with Undocumented Students
  • Promote the narratives of Black undocumented people through storytelling
    • Stories like Felecia’s is often left out of the immigrant conversation. Black immigrants are an important part of the narrative. According to the Center for Migration Studies, “Although the narrative around immigration usually focuses on Latinx people crossing the southern border, black immigrants from the Caribbean, and from Africa comprise a significant and growing part of the story of immigration in the United States.

If you would like to serve as  a mentor for 2-3 undocumented students, you can contact us at ([email protected])
